Mayank Yadav, the pacer for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), continued to impress spectators with his remarkable pace during the recent IPL 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2.

The match commenced with RCB captain Faf du Plessis winning the toss and electing to bowl first. Quinton de Kock exhibited an exceptional performance, scoring 81 runs (including 5 sixes and 8 fours), while Nicholas Pooran contributed an unbeaten 40 runs, striking 5 sixes and one four, leading LSG to a total of 181/5. Glenn Maxwell claimed two wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

During RCB’s batting innings, M Siddharth secured his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing Virat Kohli for 22 runs, while Faf du Plessis was run out after scoring 19 runs. Subsequently, the momentum shifted in LSG’s favor when KL Rahul introduced Mayank Yadav into the attack during the 6th over.

Mayank Yadav made an immediate impact, dismissing Glenn Maxwell, who was caught after struggling against his pace at 151 kph. In his subsequent over, Mayank showcased his pace prowess once more, bowling a delivery at 156.7 kph, which resulted in Cameron Green’s dismissal for 9 runs.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) struggled to build momentum during their chase, losing wickets consistently. Mayank Yadav also claimed the wicket of Rajat Patidar, who scored 29 runs. Mahipal Lomror was the top scorer for RCB with 33 runs off 13 balls as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were bowled out for 153 in 19.4 overs.

Mayank concluded with figures of 3/14, while Naveen Ul Haq secured 2/25 for LSG, leading them to a 28-run victory.

With this win, LSG climbed to the 4th position in the IPL 2024 points table, accumulating 4 points from 3 games, while RCB slid to the 9th position with just one win out of 4 games.
