Cricket fever is on the rise as India prepares to unveil its 15-member One Day International (ODI) squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. Scheduled to be announced on August 20, the squad selection has garnered immense attention from fans and cricket pundits alike.
As one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments in the Asian region, the Asia Cup holds a special place in the hearts of cricket enthusiasts. With a rich history of fierce rivalries and memorable performances, the anticipation for India’s squad announcement is reaching a crescendo.
Now, a report published in the Times of India, quoting a source, claims that India’s 15-member ODI squad for the Asia Cup is likely to be announced on August 20.
“Right now, the selectors are likely to only pick the Asia Cup team. The World Cup squad will mostly be picked later,” a source told the Times of India.
Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is likely to make a comeback into India’s ODI squad for the Asia Cup alongside Prasidh Krishna, who hasn’t played for the country since August 2022 due to multiple injuries.
“Prasidh can generate pace and bounce and will give a new dimension to our pace attack. Before they pick the team for the Asia Cup, it will be nice if the selectors get to watch both Bumrah and Prasidh bowl in the opening T20I against Ireland on August 18,” a source told Times of India.
