Asian Games 2023: Yashasvi Takes India to Semis

Yashasvi Jaiswal, a 21-year-old left-handed top-order batsman, scored a 49-ball century in the Asian Games quarterfinal against Nepal. His century helped India secure a 23-run victory.

Yashasvi has had a successful season, impressing in the IPL and earning his first Test cap against West Indies this year. Jaiswal became the youngest Indian to score a T20 international century with his innings.

Nepal also put up a spirited fight but fell short in their chase. Pakistan also won another quarterfinal match against Hong Kong.

With an exhibition of brutal power hitting, the Yashsvi became the youngest Indian to score a T20 international century as he piloted India to a 23-run victory. Chasing India’s imposing 202/4, Nepal put up a spirited fight but ran out of steam as they finished their innings at 179/9.

In China on Tuesday, he shored up his reputation as an all-format player with innings laced with hard-hitting. Jaiswal got the team off to a blazing start with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (25), beginning his onslaught by launching Karan KC for maximums off the last two balls of the second over.
