Cricket fraternity reacts as CSK defeats sloppy PBKS by 28 runs thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round performance

In the 53rd match of the IPL 2024 held at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on May 5, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced off.

PBKS captain Sam Curran won the toss and elected to field first. PBKS retained the same lineup, while CSK made a change, swapping Mitchell Santner for Mustafizur Rahman, who was on national duty in Bangladesh.

Ravindra Jadeja led the scoring for CSK with 47 runs, supported by Ruturaj Gaikwad (32) and Daryl Mitchell (30), guiding CSK to a total of 167/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Punjab’s Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel were the standout performers, claiming three wickets each.

In response, it was a poor batting performance for Punjab. Prabhsimran Singh (30) and Shashank Singh (27) were the only ones to cross the 25-run mark. Then Rahul Chahar (16) and Harpreet Brar (17*) helped PBKS avoid a huge defeat. Punjab finished on 139/9 and lost the game by 28 runs.

For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball as well finishing with figures of 3/20, while Tushar Deshpande and Simarjeet Singh took two scalps. CSK moved to the 3rd spot with this win and has 12 points from 6 wins in 11 games. PBKS remain at 8th spot with 8 points from 4 wins in 11 games.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for CSK and Ravindra Jadeja for a clinical win and lauded them on social media.
