Mohammed Siraj’s Spectacular 5-Wicket Haul on Day 4 Against West Indies

On a scorching day of Test cricket, the fiery Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj showcased his brilliance with the ball, delivering a memorable 5-wicket haul against the West Indies on day 4 of the Test match.

In reply to IND’s first innings total of 438, WI were 229/5 at the close of play on Day 3. However, Mohammed Siraj claimed four wickets in no time to bundle out the hosts for 255 on the penultimate day.

WI lost their first wicket on Day 4 courtesy of Mukesh Kumar, who dismissed Alick Athanaze before Siraj wreaked havoc to get rid of Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Kemar Roach, and Shannon Gabriel within his four overs on day 4.

Earlier in the Caribbean innings, Siraj had dismissed wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva. As a result, the right-arm quick returned with his second five-wicket haul (5/60) in his short career in Test cricket.

Mohammed Siraj’s relentless pace, impeccable line and length, and unwavering determination proved to be a nightmare for the West Indian batsmen, as they struggled to counter his lethal bowling.

The Test match between India and the West Indies had already seen some intriguing battles between bat and ball. After a hard-fought contest, India had managed to gain a substantial lead in the first innings. As the match entered its fourth day, the pressure was on the West Indies to mount a strong comeback and set a challenging target for India to chase.

Mohammed Siraj, known for his ability to extract movement from the pitch and generate an intimidating pace, was eager to make an impact on the game. Having already shown glimpses of his talent in the previous matches, Siraj was determined to seize the opportunity and make a name for himself on the international stage.

With the sun beating down, the conditions were ideal for fast bowlers, and Siraj was quick to exploit them. He was handed the responsibility of leading the Indian bowling attack on day 4. From the outset, Siraj looked focused and in rhythm, troubling the West Indian batsmen with his sharp bouncers and accurate deliveries.

Thanks to Mo. Siraj’s five-wicket haul, India took a sizeable first-innings lead of 183 runs. In their innings, the visitor’s opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out all guns blazing and took the West Indies attack to the cleaners.
