IPL 2024: DC co-owner Parth Jindal’s viral animated reaction after Sanju Samson’s wicket; Fans react

In the 56th match of IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) emerged victorious against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 7, 2024, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Sanju Samson, RR’s captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. DC’s opening batsmen, Abishek Porel (65 off 36 balls) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (50 off 20 balls), set the stage with a rapid partnership of 60 runs in 4.2 overs.

However, RR made a comeback by dismissing the openers, along with Shai Hope (1), Akshar Patel (15), and Rishabh Pant (15), leaving DC in a precarious position, seemingly heading towards a total below 200 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Yet, Tristan Stubbs (41 off 20 balls) and Gulbadin Naib (19) contributed significantly, allowing DC to post 221/8.

R Ashwin starred for RR with bowling figures of 3/24.

In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal managed only 4 runs before departing, while Jos Buttler was dismissed for 19. Sanju Samson led RR’s chase with an impressive innings of 86 runs off 46 balls, including 8 fours and 6 sixes.

However, his dismissal in the 16th over halted RR’s pursuit of the challenging target. Sanju attempted a pull shot off Mukesh Kumar’s slower delivery, resulting in a catch taken by Shai Hope near the boundary at long-on. Nonetheless, there was a dispute regarding whether Hope’s feet had touched the boundary padding during the catch. The decision was referred to the TV umpire, who reviewed the replay from multiple angles and confirmed that the catch was legitimate.

The footage indicated that Samson’s feet were dangerously close to the boundary pads, prompting him to approach the umpires for clarification on the decision.

Amidst this commotion, a viral video captured Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal expressing animated gestures and vocalizing something from the stands.
