IPL 2024: Cricket fraternity reacts on clinical DC crush GT by six wickets after bowlers’ dominant display
Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a convincing six-wicket win against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 32 of the IPL 2024 season at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Wednesday (April 17).
Batting first, GT’s innings concluded for a mere 89 runs in 17.3 overs. It was a lackluster batting performance as no player managed to surpass the 40-run mark. Rashid Khan top-scored with 31 runs off 24 balls.
Mukesh Kumar was the standout bowler for DC, taking three wickets for 14 runs in his 2.3 overs. Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs claimed two wickets each, while Akshar Patel and Khaleel Ahmed secured one wicket apiece.
In response, the Capitals chased down the target comfortably. Jake Fraser-McGurk played an explosive cameo, scoring 20 runs off 10 balls at the beginning, while skipper Rishabh Pant (16* off 11) and Sumit Kumar (9*) guided the team to victory, reaching the target in 8.5 overs.
Following this win, Delhi Capitals climbed to the sixth position in the 10-team points table, while Gujarat Titans dropped to seventh place.
The clinical performance by Delhi Capitals with both bat and ball earned them acclaim from the cricket community on social media.
Yesterday two batsmen scoring 💯 and today the whole team couldn’t score a century. Cricket is a funny game for sure.
