BCCI Announces Team India Squad for the World Cup 2023

In the world of cricket, few events can match the excitement and anticipation of the Cricket World Cup. Held once every four years, this tournament brings together the best cricketing nations in a battle for glory.

As the cricketing world gears up for the next edition of the World Cup, scheduled for 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the squad that will represent Team India on the global stage.

This announcement has sent waves of excitement and curiosity rippling through the cricketing community.

Our country will be hosting the ICC World Cup for the third time overall but for the first time as a solo host.

The tournament will kick off on October 5 with last edition’s finalists England and New Zealand encountering at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad. Team India will play its first match of the tournament on October 8th against Australia in Chennai.

The biggest match of the tournament, India vs Pakistan will be played on October 14 in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, all eyes were on the provisional Indian team squad for the World Cup 2023, as fans and experts wanted to see which players had been shortlisted to be given enough match time before the mega tournament began.

As per ICC guidelines, the World Cup provisional squad has to be submitted by September 5, and then unlimited changes can be made to that squad before submitting the finalized 15-member squad for the World Cup on September 28.

Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill, and Ishan Kisan have been selected for the opening slot.

Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Suryakumar Yadav are the options for the middle order.

Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel will be the all-rounders for the upcoming World Cup.

Shardul Thakur has also been named in the squad to bolster both the batting and bowling department.

Kuldeep Yadav is the lone specialist spinner in the team.

The pacer bowling unit has the three best fast bowlers India has to offer Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.
