Details about distribution Rs 125 crore prize money Awarded by BCCI for ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian team revealed

Team India won the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, remaining undefeated throughout the competition held in the West Indies and USA last month.

This victory marked a significant achievement for the Men in Blue, ending their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy with outstanding performances.

Following this triumph, the BCCI declared a substantial cash reward of Rs 125 crore for the victorious Indian cricket team.

Meanwhile, a report has detailed how the prize money will be distributed among the Indian cricketers, coaches, support staff, and members of the senior selection committee.

The majority of the reward will go to the players and head coach Rahul Dravid. According to The Indian Express, each of the 15 main squad players, including those who did not play a single match, along with Dravid, will receive Rs 5 crore each. The three players from the main squad who did not participate in any match were Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Other coaching staff members, such as batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, and fielding coach T Dilip, will be awarded Rs 2.5 crore each. The five-member senior selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will receive Rs 1 crore each.

Team India’s four reserve players, namely Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed, will also be awarded Rs 1 crore each.

The team’s three physiotherapists (Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar, and Thulasi Ram Yuvraj), three throwdown specialists (Raghavindraa Dvgi, Nuwan Udeneke, and Dayanand Garani), two masseurs (Rajeev Kumar and Arun Kanade), and the strength and conditioning coach (Soham Desai) will receive Rs 2 crore each.

A BCCI source mentioned that everyone has been informed about the prize money and asked to submit an invoice.

The report further stated that the Indian contingent for the T20 World Cup 2024 campaign included 42 people. In addition to players, coaches, support staff, and selectors, the video analyst, BCCI staff members, media officers, and logistics manager will also be rewarded.
